Indopreter CD - translation software

This is not really a review. This is a cool software, but it's impossible to translate a language into another one from a completely different linguistic history. Well, that's what I think, but my thought is not important. I just wanna share the funniest translation results (well, actually, results like these come up from time to time).

here we go:

The dominant economy is latent to be a dominant culture

Ekonomi dominan tersembunyi satu budaya dominan.

Jakarta dialect is considered the coolest everyday language by the youth in Indonesian big cities.
=>
Dialek Jakarta dipertimbangkan sehari-hari bahasa paling sejuk oleh masa di kota besar Indonesia.

I remember a friend of mine from Jakarta went to college in other town and got a side job as radio DJ. Just because he speaks in Jakarta dialect, he held more and more programs and end up taking over the station.

Kala, 2007

I'll make it short.
1. I broke my oath not to write reviews about Indonesian movie, but damn, I'm not a critic I'm a fan.
2. Actually, it's either you love it so much or simply hate it.
3. I agree with sinema indonesia ( http://www.sinema-indonesia.com/ ) that says the less you know about this movie, the more you can enjoy it.
4. However I think sinema indonesia somehow overhearded and stole my line when I told the director that I was having an orgasm during the movie. Well, they might not steal it. Maybe it's normal for many people to having cinematic orgasmo during this movie.
5. Now I believe Joko Anwar is the "Sutradara terbesar se-Indonesia". (he would reply with "maksud lo tergendut?". No, Joko. TerBESAR. kekekek). But seriously, he's a great director.
6. Damn, i still cant believe I write a review on Indonesian movie.

the entertaining

sorry if you heard this zillion times before guys, but I couldn't stop laughing when I heard this for the first time. 2 and a half years abroad and when you're home you find something like this in Indonesia...? Unbelievable. believable siih... bagus malah ada ginian.

First time I heard it played on the internet cafe's speaker, and the operator stopped it right away. Naturally, I tried to look for it on the net, and where else to find a piece like this? "SEARCH' section of Multiply of course...!!! and you can download them fast, too...! Free and doesn't have to wait for slow connection of p2p system. I just put the keyword: 'ngentot'.

The title means 'please wait'. I might never know what the lyrics really meant, but it's definitely mind blowing. The music is kinda too pop for a group like King Crimson, but I'm sure that its the most pleasurable entrance to their other works. Enjoy.

Geri Halliwell - Lift Me Up

A talented musician who decided to get a PhD in social science from Kyoto University once said, music for girl bands are arranged more seriously than boy bands'. How could I don't agree? And this one is my favorite.

Okay okay, it's her solo album, she was no longer with the group. But still, if we listen carefully -or try "Look at Me"- we can tell that the arrangers worked hard for this farewell album (what is she doing nowadays anyway?). I love this song in particular, I always fall asleep halfway. Soooo relaxing.

We used to go out walking hand in hand
You told me all the big things you had planned
It wasn't long till all your dreams came true
Success put me in second place with you

And i spend all my evenings all alone
Success has made a failure of our home

If we could share an evening now and then
I'm sure we'd find true happiness again
You never hold me like you used to do
Oh, it's funny what success has done to you

Back to #

Success has made a failure of our home
I never changed
I'm still the same
I never changed
Stop what you're saying
You're killing me
And am i not your girl?
Am i not your girl?
Am i not?

the loneliness

Panbers - Musafir

Many years ago, I heard a street performer sang this song inside a full-packed running bus in Jakarta, and, naturally, had a serious contemplation about my life. Few months later, on the same bus route and from the same street performer, the song was heard again...! And this performer guy... I think he only played this song to make a statement, not like because he can't play other songs.

Since then the song has been playing in my mind and lately I wonder if I can get its mp3... voila... look at the magic of Multiply...

In general I don't listen to lyrics, but alas, that tukang ngamen was waaaay too good to get my attention, or is it the song itself? Well, I play the song in my mind whenever I'm thinking about this endless journey of mine, and when I miss home -and that's like everyday-. I think Bimbo wrote it. Or was it written by Panbers themselves?

Anyway,

Cali Tour part 3: Santa Cruz: UC Santa Cruz

If I care only about physical chemistry, this campus and this town is in my first priority.

The town. First of all, it is considered as the U.S. capital for surfing. Well, I can't surf along sea waves, but I definetely a surfer in the waves of life, or at least on the web. Second, the town is full of hippies. One of my host (not on the pictures) lives in caravan and (but) owns a hybrid car...!! Third, it's legal to go outside topless.

The campus. It's on the hill, but unlike Cornell, it's not on the top of the hill and SC is definetely waaaaay warmer than Ithaca. Second, it's on the hill, we could see the blue ocean and breath nicely. Three, whoever built it had separated buildings so it's more difficult for students to coordinate rallies (yes, the campus was built after Berkeley riots in the 1960's) so there are thick woods or bushes between those buildings. Felt like hiking everyday, and you can replace images of goats in Indonesian campuses with deers in UCSC: so yes, we cou...

Cali Tour part 3: SF #2: Stanford University

"Landscape Architect Frederick Law Olmsted, who designed New York City's Central Park, created the master plan for the Stanford campus. His collaboration with Leland and Jane Stanford, as well as the firm of Shepley, Rutan and Coolidge, created the distinctive Western style that has become Stanford's trademark."

Another beautiful campus. It's huge. It's hot when summer. I couldn't be able to walk through all the buildings, such a gigantic investment in education. Hey, everyone knows how Leland and Jane Stanford decided to built this campus, right? They lost their only children, so they decided to devote their money to more (later it becomes thousands or millions) childrens by building a university.

Same story, I just got a webcam camera so I took six pictures out from their website, just to give a general idea of the university that couldn't be captured by my own lens.
